Product Manager - Core platform
The Role
We are looking for a Product Manager to join our team. At Sokin, we are building a world-class product team that can help us remove the borders, barriers and burdens from global business.
Product Management at Sokin is all about creating and delivering an ambitious roadmap with your team and working continuously with clients and stakeholders to ensure your product is driving real value for our customers and the business.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to be part of something challenging and transformative, someone who wants to play a critical role in driving our success.
About us
Sokin is a next-generation B2B financial services provider, enabling businesses to make and receive global payments with greater speed, lower cost, and total transparency. Our mission is simple: we’re simplifying global business - so businesses thrive wherever they choose to grow.
We deliver services across:
· Global payments and receivables
· Foreign Exchange (FX)
· Treasury management
· Finance reconciliations
We are rapidly expanding, with established presence in EMEA, APAC, and North America. Backed by a strong global infrastructure and industry-leading partners, we are redefining how businesses move money worldwide.
Our clients span industries from sports and entertainment to logistics and travel, and our community is growing rapidly. As we continue to expand, we’re building a team of exceptional people who share our ambition to transform the future of global payments.
As our Core Product manager:
You'll own the product strategy of Sokin's core platform, the centralised systems that serve all our customer-facing tribes (Receive, Convert, Send, Control & Earn, Spend, and Embedded). The core platform encompasses ledger, reconciliation, transaction processing, identity and authorisation and shared APIs.
You'll be responsible for defining what lives at the core versus what belongs in tribe specific product (maintaining clear boundaries), ensuring the platform scales reliably as transaction volumes grow, working with engineering leadership to govern the platform roadmap.
A critical part of this role is understanding trade-offs between centralised capability and distributed autonomy. You'll partner with other tribes to understand their platform dependencies and constraints, then decide what gets built centrally and what tribes build themselves. This requires disciplined prioritisation and the confidence to say no when a request doesn't align with platform stability or long-term architecture.
You'll be the strategic owner of core platform metrics: ledger accuracy, API response times. You'll monitor these relentlessly, diagnose degradation before it impacts customers and drive continuous improvement through data and user feedback.
Success means a platform that scales reliably, tribes that feel unblocked but held to architectural standards, a well managed and technically sound roadmap that balances platform debt with new capability and the confidence that every tribe's dependencies are met without compromising platform integrity.
Your role as a Core product manager at Sokin:
Define and communicate the core platform product strategy and roadmap, aligned to company vision and platform stability requirements.
Conduct analysis to identify platform constraints, bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement that impact multiple tribes.
Partner directly with engineering leadership to govern architecture decisions, schema evolution and API standards.
Work with tribe leads to understand their platform dependencies, negotiate scope, and resolve conflicts between centralised capability and distributed needs.
Monitor core platform metrics (ledger accuracy, uptime, API latency) and drive continuous improvement.
Maintain clear boundaries between core platform ownership and other product domains resolving ambiguities.
Spend time with internal users (operations, compliance, treasury, implementations teams) to understand platform pain points and validate improvements.
Manage the core platform roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities and engineering capacity.
Build and share knowledge of platform architecture, data flow, and integration patterns so that ownership is retained through team changes.
We’d love to hear from you if:
You have experience managing or building core infrastructure or platform products, ideally in fintech, payments or another complex distributed systems environment.
You have a great understanding of payments, ledger systems or transaction processing
You're comfortable operating in technical environments and can translate business requirements into technical product strategy without oversimplifying.
You're driven to create clarity, defining scope boundaries, saying no clearly and reducing ambiguity across teams.
You have a track record of managing trade-offs and can articulate when moving fast is the right call and when it's not.
You enjoy working closely with engineering leadership and can partner with architects and staff engineers on strategic decisions.
You're analytical and metrics-driven, but not at the expense of qualitative user insight. You'll dig into logs and work closely with risk, operations, treasury, legal and compliance stakeholders.
You love solving problems in technically rigorous ways and you're not satisfied with quick fixes that create long-term debt.
Please note, candidates will need to have the right to work in the jurisdiction that they are looking to work in.
We are an equal opportunities employer committed to creating an inclusive work environment. As a growing global startup, we value agility and flexibility in our working culture. If you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, please let us know.
