We are seeking a highly motivated, adaptable and resourceful Business Development Executive to join our growing commercial team in Singapore and help build Sokin’s sales pipeline across Southeast Asia.
About us
Sokin is a next-generation B2B financial services provider, enabling businesses to make and receive global payments with greater speed, lower cost, and total transparency. Our mission is simple: we’re simplifying global business – so businesses thrive wherever they choose to grow.
We deliver services across:
Global payments and receivables
Foreign exchange (FX)
Treasury management
Finance reconciliations
We are rapidly expanding, with an established presence in EMEA, APAC and North America. Backed by strong global infrastructure and industry-leading partners, we are redefining how businesses move money worldwide.
Our clients span industries from sports and entertainment to logistics, travel and e-commerce. As our community grows, we’re building a team of exceptional people who share our ambition to transform the future of global payments.
The role
As a Business Development Executive, your primary responsibility will be to source, engage and qualify prospective clients, then secure well-qualified meetings for Sokin’s sales team. You will spend a significant part of your time on the phone, combining high-volume cold calling with personalised email, LinkedIn and warm outreach to build a consistent pipeline across Singapore and Southeast Asia.
You will also respond quickly to leads generated by Marketing, meet prospects at industry events and nurture early-stage opportunities through disciplined follow-up. Working closely with Marketing, Customer Experience (CX) and Sales, you will ensure prospects receive a relevant, timely and professional experience from first contact through to handover. This is an excellent opportunity to build a career in global payments, FX and B2B sales.
Key responsibilities
Make consistent, high-quality outbound calls to prospective business clients, using a confident and consultative approach to open new conversations and generate qualified opportunities.
Research and identify target companies and decision-makers through LinkedIn, CRM intelligence, industry publications, event lists, referrals and other prospecting channels.
Execute coordinated cold and warm outreach across phone, email, LinkedIn and social channels, tailoring messages to each prospect’s business and cross-border payment needs.
Respond promptly to inbound and marketing-generated leads, assess their level of interest and fit, and maintain momentum through timely, persistent follow-up.
Conduct initial discovery and qualification conversations to understand each prospect’s business model, international payment flows, FX exposure, pain points, priorities and decision-making process.
Schedule qualified discovery meetings and product demonstrations for the sales team, providing complete context and coordinating a smooth handover.
Attend relevant industry events, conferences and networking opportunities, proactively engaging potential prospects and following up event-generated leads after each activity.
Work closely with Marketing on target audiences, campaigns, messaging, events and lead feedback, helping improve lead quality and conversion.
Partner with CX and Sales to ensure prospects receive accurate information, appropriate support and a consistent experience throughout the early sales journey.
Maintain accurate and timely CRM records for every interaction, next step and qualification insight, and manage follow-up tasks with strong discipline.
Deliver against agreed activity, meeting and qualified-opportunity targets, while continually improving outreach effectiveness through coaching, feedback and performance data.
Share market feedback, common objections and prospect insights with Sales, Marketing and CX to help strengthen campaigns, messaging and the wider go-to-market approach.
Requirements
Proven experience in an outbound sales, business development, telesales or lead-generation role, including regular cold calling and cold outreach to business prospects.
Confidence and resilience on the phone, with the ability to build rapport quickly, handle objections and maintain energy across a high volume of conversations.
A strong hunter mentality and genuine motivation to create new opportunities, supported by persistence, curiosity and disciplined follow-up.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, concise and relevant outreach across phone, email and LinkedIn.
Ability to conduct structured initial discovery, ask thoughtful questions and qualify prospects against agreed criteria.
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work closely with Marketing, CX and Sales in a fast-moving, target-driven environment.
Highly organised, with excellent time management and the discipline to manage multiple prospects, follow-ups and deadlines simultaneously.
Experience using CRM and sales-outreach tools, with a commitment to accurate data entry and activity tracking.
Results-driven and comfortable working towards clear activity, meeting and qualified-opportunity targets.
Interest in developing a career in B2B sales, fintech, global payments, FX or financial services.
Desirable
Experience in fintech, payments, FX, financial services or another B2B environment.
Knowledge of the Singapore business environment or exposure to prospecting across Southeast Asian markets.
Experience following up leads from digital campaigns, events, webinars or other marketing activity.
Additional language capabilities relevant to Sokin’s priority markets in Southeast Asia.
Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, sales-engagement tools or Zoho CRM.
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
