Senior Product Manager - External Developer Experience
Senior Product Manager - External Developer Experience
Reports to: Group Product Manager (Get Set Up & Build)
Location: London
Your Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to own the experience of every developer who builds on Sokin. At Sokin, we are building a world-class product team that can help us remove the borders, barriers and burdens from global business.
Product Management at Sokin is all about creating and delivering an ambitious roadmap with your team and working continuously with clients and stakeholders to ensure your product is driving real value for our customers and the business.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to be part of something challenging and transformative, someone who wants to play a critical role in driving our success.
We place a high value on curiosity. The best Product Managers here are endlessly inquisitive about our customers, our data and how money really moves.
About Us
Sokin is a next-generation B2B financial services provider, enabling businesses to make and receive global payments with greater speed, lower cost, and total transparency.
Our mission is simple: we're simplifying global business - so businesses thrive wherever they choose to grow. We deliver this across:
Global payments and receivables
Foreign Exchange (FX)
Treasury management
Finance reconciliations
We are expanding rapidly with an established presence across EMEA, APAC and North America. Backed by strong global infrastructure and industry-leading partners, we're redefining how businesses move money around the world.
Our clients span industries from sports and entertainment to logistics and travel, and our community is growing fast. We're building a team of exceptional people who share our ambition to transform the future of global payments.
As our Senior Product Manager, External Developer Experience
Increasingly, our clients and partners do not use Sokin through a screen: they build on it. They connect their own platforms and finance systems to our APIs, they embed money movement in their own products, and a growing number are beginning to give AI agents access to their accounts. The quality of that experience decides how fast they get to their first payment and how much they trust us with more.
You'll own the developer experience end to end: our API as a product, the technical documentation, the sandbox, and the white label offer for reseller and embedded partners. You'll set the standards that make Sokin easy to build on, work with Engineering to deliver them, and measure the result in developer terms: time to a first successful payment, the clarity of errors, and how smoothly code moves from sandbox to production.
This is a senior role with a lot of room to define the area. Your first job is to decide what 'excellent' looks like for a developer at Sokin and to build the roadmap that gets us there.
Your role as a Senior Product Manager at Sokin:
Own the strategy and roadmap for Sokin's external developer experience: API ownership, technical documentation, sandbox and, white label and SDKs
Treat the API as a product: own design principles, consistency, and a published versioning and deprecation policy that developers can rely on
Drive a sandbox with production parity, so the same code runs in both without change, and a developer can reach a first successful payment within a day
Rebuild developer documentation around the jobs developers do (get set up, send, collect, track) rather than around endpoints
Make errors clear and actionable every time something fails, working with Engineering on error design and with Support on the cases that generate tickets
Define how MCP and agent access is granted and controlled, as an entitlement an administrator grants with scope and limits recorded
Productise the white label offer: packaging, pricing and the support model for reseller and embedded partners, so that a partner's customers receive the same onboarding service levels as Sokin's direct clients
Work with Client Implementation, Solutions and Support to understand where integrations stall, and with the Onboarding Experience & Expansion and Platform Services teams on shared journeys
Work from Sokin's Jobs to Be Done catalogue: describe the jobs developers, partners and the teams that support them hire your product for, the outcomes that matter, and the evidence behind them, and keep that picture current
Define and track the metrics: time to first payment in the sandbox, integration success rate, API error rates and developer satisfaction
We'd love to hear from you if:
You have 6+ years in product management, including experience owning an API, developer platform or developer-facing product, ideally in payments or B2B fintech
You have a strong understanding of API design, authentication, webhooks, versioning, sandbox environments and how developers evaluate and adopt an API
You can write, or direct the writing of, clear technical documentation, and you care about how it reads to a busy developer
You are comfortable with white label and embedded finance models, and the commercial and regulatory questions they raise
You are curious about AI agents as API consumers and what permissions, limits and audit they require
You own your roadmap and can identify problems, make decisions and drive things forward without waiting to be managed
You have enough technical depth to work closely with engineers and to review a developer's experience for yourself
You are comfortable working with compliance, security and commercial stakeholders
Curious and inquisitive: you ask why before you build, dig into the data and the customer's real situation, follow questions past the first answer, and are never satisfied with 'that's how it has always been done'.
Comfortable using AI in your role: you use AI tools as a matter of course to research, draft, analyse and prototype at speed, and you stay fully accountable for the result. AI is a tool that sharpens your judgement and never replaces it: you check what it gives you, and the thinking stays yours.
Please note, candidates will need to have the right to work in the jurisdiction that they are looking to work in.
Sokin is an equal opportunities employer and committed to maintaining an inclusive work environment. As a growing global startup with bases across multiple countries, we were established on and continue to promote an agile, flexible working culture. Please reach out to discuss any accommodations you may require during the recruitment process.
